Frequently Asked Questions
What sweetener do we use?
Vanilla and Chocolate flavors are sweetened with Monk Fruit. Unflavored is unsweetened.
Monk fruit is a 100% natural zero-calorie, non-insulinogenic sweetener. It doesn't have any of the adverse effects of artificial sweeteners and sugar alcohols (such as GI issues and even inflammation), and it doesn't have the bitter aftertaste like some other sweeteners like Stevia.
For 100% natural flavoring we use either natural vanilla bean flavor or the richest cocoa powder around. We then mix in a pinch of sea salt, a touch of coconut cream for creaminess, and a hint of monk fruit for a balanced sweetness.
Why should I add MCTs to my diet?
MCTs can provide several health benefits.
Improved satiety, potential weight loss, increased energy expenditure, and enhanced cognition are just a few of the pluses you may experience when you include MCTs in your diet.
What are MCTs?
MCTs are high-energy, keto-friendly fats found naturally in food sources such as coconut oil and dairy products.
What makes MCTs stand apart from other fats is how the body processes them. MCTs are absorbed quicker and processed into Ketones faster and more efficiently than fats and fatty acids with longer carbon chains. Ketones give you a boost of energy and cognitive focus and may reduce cravings and aid in weight loss.
What is C8 MCT and why is it better?
Caprylic acid (C8) is a type of MCT that can be converted to ketones faster than any other MCT. It’s considered by many to be the highest-quality MCT, which is exactly why we use it in our MCT Oil Powder.
Other MCT oils and MCT oil powders use a blend of less keto-optimized MCTs. H.V.M.N. MCT Oil Powder goes the extra mile for your metabolism!
How is MCT oil powder different from MCT oil?
MCT oil is made from extracting the pure MCT from natural oil sources, like coconut or palm kernel.
MCT oil powder is produced through a process known as spray drying. Liquid MCT oil is spray dried and microencapsulated with a powder “carrier shell” to give it the appearance and convenience of a powder. As the powder carrier, we use 100% natural gum acacia, a gut-friendly prebiotic soluble fiber.
MCT oil powder is less messy, easier to mix into liquid, and easier to transport than MCT oil. It’s also easier to for your gut to digest powder over oil.
How is MCT oil powder different from coconut oil?
Coconut oil is simply oil from coconuts while C8 is Caprylic Acid, the most "ketogenic" MCT.
MCT oil is "medium chain triglycerides" and is extracted and purified from coconut or palm kernel oil, so that it does not contain some of the other fats and compounds found in coconut oil.
C8 the most effective, highest quality MCT out there - which is why we use it in our MCT Oil Powder!
