Ketone-IQ can raise ketone levels in the blood even in the absence of a keto diet, carbohydrate restriction, or fasting. While the route to ketone production differs, the signaling effects of endogenous ketones (which are produced naturally by the body) and exogenous ketones like Ketone 2.0 are virtually the same. Ketone-IQ™️ is the technology that powers Ketone 2.0. It is a chirally pure form of R-1,3-butanediol (R-1,3-BDO), an exogenous ketone that can be used to raise your blood ketone levels. 

 

Blood ketone levels are commonly measured by assessing the level of B-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) in your blood. When consumed, Ketone-IQ undergoes a series of oxidation steps in the liver to produce BHB, which is passed into your system to be used for energy. 

 

Ketone-IQ may raise blood BHB levels to 1.5–2.5 millimolar (mM) per liter, an optimal range that may unlock key benefits for athletic performance, recovery, and more. With consistent use, Ketone-IQ can sustain blood ketone levels for more than 6 hours. 

 

Ketone-IQ is Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) by the FDA, meaning that it is safe for human consumption. Each bottle of Ketone 2.0 contains ten 35ml servings, and each serving contains 10 grams of Ketone-IQ. We do not recommend taking more than 3 servings of Ketone 2.0 per day.

The length of time will depend on if you exercise (where BHB will be used quicker) and what you eat (where BHB will stay elevated for longer if you are fasting or following a keto diet). 

  • During exercise, the effects typically last ~1.5–2 hours. 
  • At rest, the effects typically last around 6 hours.

How do I test to see if I'm in ketosis?

There are three methods that you can use to measure your ketone levels:

  1. Blood BHB Measurement
    • Pros: The most accurate measurement available.
    • Cons: Requires a handheld device (i.e., FreeStyle or Keto Mojo) and test strips, which can be expensive. You have to take a finger-prick blood sample.
  2. Urine ketone test strips
    • Pros: Cheap, available in many pharmacies, and non-invasive.
    • Cons: Less accurate than blood. Over time, the body adapts to excrete fewer ketones in the urine.
  3. Breath acetone meter
    • Pros: Once you have bought the device, it is free each time you test.
    • Cons: Requires a handheld device (i.e. Ketonix). Breath tests are less accurate than blood.

It is strongly recommended to check your blood ketone levels if you are trying to get into nutritional ketosis or if you are using exogenous ketones. Testing can help you determine if your method is effective.
