ΔG® ketone ester is a proprietary ketone ester invented by Professor Kieran Clarke at the University of Oxford and Dr Richard Veech at the NIH.  ΔG® ketone ester is a particular ester, (R)-3-hydroxybutyl-(R)-3-hydroxybutyrate, which may be used as a food or nutritional supplement to improve human physical performance and cognitive function. ΔG® ketone ester is especially beneficial in high performance sports and athletic activities.

Based on the work of Professor Clarke and Dr Veech, Professor Clarke founded TΔS® in 2005 as a spin-out company from the University of Oxford with the University, Veech Intellectual Properties and Professor Clarke the major shareholders. TΔS® has an international patent portfolio with several issued US patents on ketone esters. The patent portfolio includes patent rights exclusively licensed from the University of Oxford and the NIH relating to ketone esters and ΔG® ketone ester.

HVMN® is the exclusive licensee of TΔS® for the commercialisation of ΔG® ketone ester for high performance sports and athletic activities in the US. HVMN® is the only company authorised to commercialise ΔG® ketone ester.

TΔS® has notified the FDA that ΔG® ketone ester has GRAS (Generally Regarded as Safe) status as an ingredient in sports products, including drinks. HVMN® and TΔS® are not aware of any other ketone ester with GRAS status.
